MOON
In early times there was a country in which at night was always dark and the sky lay like a black sheet, it never left the moon or bright stars in the sky.In this country one day four boys went out into the world, and came to a land that evening, as the sun was setting behind the mountains, appeared above an oak a luminous sphere that spread a great distance a bright light and soft , even if it was bright as the sun, could see and distinguish objects very well. Strangers stopped to stare and asked a peasant, who happened to pass by in his car, what kind of light was this.- Is the moon - the man said -. Our mayor bought it for three crowns and held in the crown of oak. You have to put oil every day and keep it clean so that it burns clear. For this we pay a shield a week. When the peasant had gone, said one of the boys:- This lamp of great service to us, in our land we have an oak tree as high as this, we could hang of it. What advantage do not have to grope at night!- You know what? - Said the second -. We're going to find a car and a horse, and we take the moon. Here you can buy another.- I know to climb trees - spoke the third -. I will ascend to unhook. The fourth was to get the car and the horse, and the third climbed to the top of the oak, punched a hole in the moon, passed a rope through it and fell. Once in the car had the brilliant ball, covered with a blanket so nobody would notice the theft, and thus transported without mishap, in earth, where hung from a tall oak. Old and young people felt very happy when they saw the new light fixture sprinkled over the fields and fill their rooms and apartments. The dwarves came out of their caves, and the Pixies, in red jackets, danced in a circle through the meadows. The four were ordered to put oil on the moon and keep clean the wick, and thus a shield were paid weekly. But aged, and when one fell ill and foresaw the approach of death, which deposits arranged in his grave, to bury a quarter of the moon, which he owned. When he was dead, the mayor went to oak and with pruning shears, cut a quadrant, which was placed in the coffin. The star's light was weakened, though little. But the death of the second cutting was another room, with a consequent diminution of light. Was even more tenuous after the death of the third, which took their share, and came fourth last hour, the darkness turned to reign in the country. People who went out at night without a lantern, was given to nod, and it was all shock. But to join in the underworld, the four quadrants of the moon and illuminate the realm of eternal darkness, the dead began to stir and awaken the ultimate dream. Wondered that he felt they saw again, the moonlight was enough, because his eyes were so weak that they would not have been able to resist the sun's glare. They rose from their graves and cheerful, resumed their former way of life: some went to the game or the dance, the other ran to the tavern, where he got drunk, stirred and quarreled, finishing out the stakes and zurrarse a great time each other. The noise was getting louder, and ended up letting heard in heaven.St. Peter, keeper of the gate of Paradise, believed that the underworld had revolted, and ran to concentrate the heavenly hosts to repel the enemy, if the devil, in front of their own, trying to invade the mansion the righteous. But seeing that there was, mounted his horse and rode to the underworld. They quieted the dead and brought them back to their graves: then took the moon and hung high in the sky.
